Textured Doll Hair

I very recently purchased AGT15 - medium skin, black textured hair, brown eyes. Well she arrived with a "do" - the top half in a braid, which was trimmed after the band, and then the bottom half just in a pony tail. You can see a similar style on the site. This means that her hair is actually 2 different lenghts, and the top part is kinky (from the braid) while the bottom part is straight. Also there seem to be a lot of little "frizzies" - broken or short strands of hair on the top of her head or around the face.

She is brand new - is this typical of the textured hair AGT's? They probably all come this way I bet, I'm not sure if I should return her or try to work with the hair. I do think she's beautiful... It's just kind of annoying since I thought all AGT's had one-length hair!!!!!

I agree, I am not crazy about the hair style. I got two AGTs with textured hair at the MCM Sale, and only one came like that. The volunteer said the one like that has the new hair style, like this was a good thing. But once I took it down and realized the drastic length difference, I decided it's definitely not a good thing. So, apparently this is a new development with the texture-haired AGTs. My guess is it's a way to curb the fullness of the hair.

That's strange, I thought their hair was fully textured like Addy's. I think someone had a website that said the AGTs and the historicals had different wigs because the AGT have their hair stayled more.

All of the hair is textured. The bottom part isn't straight as in smooth like the other hair type, it's just normal textured hair. This is opposed to the section that is braided which is wavy because it had been in a braid. (Like how Kailey's hair is normal except for the part that is in the braids is wavy. You can see this in some people's albums.) Ironically, both my Kailey and Charity (AGT 15) now have their hair in braid styles that don't show that variation. And I probably won't take them out anytime soon.

That's the one my daughter wanted for her birthday, but she got the pale blonde (new agot) instead. I was wondering how she was & that's odd that its different lengths like that. ??
They would have to think people would take out the top part & see the dramatic varience.
I don't know if I would like that or not. My daughter loves that doll though.....
I'm not really happy with the Agot's wigs overall I must say.

I have AGOT #15, and my daughte ractually cut her hair!!! Since I've had her so long though, I don't want her head changed. i bought her in 1997, and her wig was all one length, but kinda bulky. We usually just keep it in braids or a pin-up.
